Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Buyer to join their procurement team based in Cape Town. This role involves managing the end-to-end purchasing process for various goods and services, ensuring the company secures favorable terms and maintains optimal stock levels. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet operational demands efficiently. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work both remotely and from the office, fostering a collaborative environment while promoting personal autonomy.

The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses strong negotiation skills, and is adept at navigating the complexities of the supply chain.

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities.
• Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery delays.
• Collaborate with inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Buyer or similar procurement role.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
