Logistics Coordinator - Import​/Export

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage their import and export operations from their Cape Town hub. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of goods across international borders, managing documentation, and coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs agents. You will play a key part in maintaining efficient supply chains and ensuring timely delivery of products, working within a dedicated logistics team that values accuracy and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be adept at handling the complexities of global trade and possess excellent organizational skills.

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
• Liaise effectively with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure seamless transit.
• Track shipments, provide timely updates to stakeholders, and resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities and ensure data integrity in the company's systems.
• Negotiate rates with service providers and identify cost-saving opportunities within the logistics function.

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in international logistics, import/export coordination, or freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of customs procedures, international trade compliance, and shipping documentation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in logistics software and standard office applications.
