Remote Purchasing Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Our client, a rapidly expanding international corporation, is actively seeking a skilled and dynamic Remote Purchasing Manager to lead its strategic sourcing initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across all categories of spend.

This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for our client's global operations, with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability.

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, ethical, and performance standards.
• Negotiate favourable contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers.
• Manage existing supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and potential risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical sourcing guidelines.

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing, preferably in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships virtually.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
