Senior Freight Forwarder; Remote

Our client, a leading international freight forwarding company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Freight Forwarder to join their operations on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role involves managing the end-to-end logistics process for international shipments, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and clients to facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders.

• Manage and coordinate international freight shipments via air, sea, and land.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and other transport providers to negotiate rates and book cargo space.
• Track shipments and provide real-time updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, tariffs, and import/export laws in various countries.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, customs clearance, or delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and overseas partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs within the freight forwarding process.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in international logistics.
• Mentor junior members of the freight forwarding team remotely.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or international logistics.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping procedures, incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Proven ability to manage complex international shipments and resolve related challenges.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
• A dedicated home office setup with a reliable internet connection is essential.
• Familiarity with different shipping modes (air, sea, land) and their specific requirements.
• Experience in handling hazardous materials or specialized cargo is a plus.
