Senior Logistics Planner; Remote

Our client, a global leader in specialized freight forwarding, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Planner to join their remote-first team. This critical role focuses on the strategic planning and optimization of complex transportation routes and schedules to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of various transportation modes, regulatory requirements, and advanced planning software, coupled with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Develop, implement, and continuously optimize sophisticated logistics plans for national and international shipments.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve delivery times.
• Select and manage relationships with carriers and third‑party logistics providers, negotiating favorable rates and service agreements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs laws, and safety standards.
• Utilize advanced logistics planning software and tools to forecast demand, manage capacity, and track shipments.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, customer service) to understand client needs and ensure seamless execution of logistics plans.
• Prepare detailed reports on logistics performance, identifying trends, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior logistics planners.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a similar role.
• In‑depth understanding of various transportation modes (air, sea, road, rail) and their associated complexities.
• Proven experience with logistics planning software and tools, including route optimization and TMS.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures is highly desirable.
