Advisor, Strategic Sourcing - Indirect Procurement, Enterprise Operations

Global Sourcing -- is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Family:
Strategic Sourcing Indirect -- is responsible for developing and executing strategy to source indirect goods and services to support our business stakeholders and programs. Perform analysis in order to select supplier and negotiate best value for Cardinal Health. Provide supplier relationship management and contract compliance management, including maximization of financial deliverables and risk mitigation. May work within various procurement systems to execute purchase orders and resolve technical issues as identified.

The Advisor, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for end to end sourcing for an indirect category(ies). This job develops relations with category business partners to understand and determine the sourcing needs of the business. The Advisor Strategic Sourcing executes the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services. This job leverages spend analytics and market intelligence to identify cost optimization opportunities in the sourcing of goods and services.

• Category Sourcing Lead for the assigned indirect categories that may include Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Energy and Facilities.
• Primary Souring business partner support for key stakeholders within assigned indirect categories.
• Work closely with indirect suppliers to source indirect goods and services.
• Initiate, negotiate and finalize new indirect supplier contracts and maintain existing contracts.
• Manage Request for Proposal (RFP) events within assigned indirect categories.
• Drive purchasing discipline and compliance with internal stakeholders.
• Review and approve Buy Now purchase requests and new supplier setups within assigned categories.
• Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure favorable contract and purchasing terms.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field preferred that includes strategic sourcing (indirect), category management, supplier management and negotiation experience, preferred.
• Effective communication in English and presentation skills. Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as with external supplier partners.
• Demonstrates a strong financial acumen.
• Strong project and process management skills.
• Well versed in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) tools. Knowledge of enterprise software like SAP and SAP Ariba is a plus.
• Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions.
