Remote Logistics Coordinator; Global Freight

Our client, a leading international freight forwarding company, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Logistics Coordinator to manage global shipping operations from the comfort of their home office. This position is vital for coordinating the movement of goods across international borders, managing documentation, and ensuring seamless communication between suppliers, carriers, and clients worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and multimodal transportation.

You will leverage technology to optimize workflows, track shipments, and resolve complex logistical challenges in a remote-first environment. This role demands exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive independently in a virtual team setting, supporting our client's extensive network operating from North West, ZA .

• Coordinate international shipments via air, sea, and land freight.
• Manage all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Track shipment progress and provide timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with overseas partners, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth transit and clearance.
• Identify and resolve logistical issues and potential delays proactively.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Utilize freight management software and other digital tools to optimize operations.
• Process shipping instructions and booking requests accurately.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service remotely.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics processes and efficiency.

• Proven experience in international freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or supply chain management.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation, and customs regulations.
• Proficiency in using freight management software and standard office applications (e.g.,  Microsoft Office Suite ).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• A stable internet connection and a dedicated home office space are mandatory.
• Experience with managing air and sea freight is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a remote team environment.
