Distribution Center Manager

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Distribution Center Manager to oversee the operations of their key distribution facility in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This critical role involves managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, logistics, staff supervision, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to optimize warehouse processes.

• Oversee all daily operations of the distribution center in Vereeniging, Gauteng , ensuring efficiency and productivity.
• Manage inventory levels, implement stock control procedures, and minimize discrepancies.
• Direct and supervise warehouse staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and scheduling.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve throughput, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
• Manage logistics, transportation, and shipping/receiving operations effectively.
• Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and operational work environment.
• Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and report findings to management.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless supply chain flow.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center management.
• Proven experience in managing large teams and complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and transportation management.
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
• Experience with in the Vereeniging, Gauteng industrial landscape is beneficial.
