Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations

Our client, a leading multinational consumer goods company, is seeking a Senior Manager for Supply Chain Operations to join their Johannesburg regional hub in Randburg. This role requires a hybrid presence, combining essential time in the office with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain, from procurement and logistics to warehousing and distribution, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supply chain management, a strategic mindset, and proven leadership capabilities. You will lead a team of supply chain professionals, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with global operational standards. This is a critical role for managing the flow of goods and materials to meet market demands and enhance competitive advantage.

• Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, production) and external partners (suppliers, logistics providers).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance supply chain visibility and performance.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-national supply chains.
• Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and procurement processes.
• Demonstrated success in driving cost reduction and efficiency improvements in supply chain operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid model, effectively balancing office and remote duties.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in the consumer goods sector is a plus.
