Remote Facilities Maintenance Manager

Our client, a dynamic national corporation with multiple operational sites, is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of their properties. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to manage maintenance operations and teams across various locations, with a focus on facilities in and around Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA. You will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing budgets, coordinating repairs, and ensuring all facilities meet safety and operational standards, all while working from your remote location.

This role requires strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of facility management, and the ability to lead and motivate dispersed teams.

• Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance plans for all company facilities, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Manage and coordinate the work of on-site maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Manage facility budgets, including operational expenses, capital improvements, and emergency repairs.
• Ensure all facilities are safe, secure, and meet environmental compliance standards.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize operational disruptions.
• Review and approve maintenance work orders, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Source and manage vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
• Utilize CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) software for tracking, reporting, and managing maintenance activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in facilities management and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing a diverse portfolio of properties and leading remote teams.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural).
• Proficiency in CMMS/CAFM software and other relevant facility management tools.
• Excellent budget management and financial planning skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage a remote team.
