World Vision is hiring a Technical Director, Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge (RHCC) to serve on the Program, Quality & Impact (PQI) Health Team.
At a Glance- Role: Technical Director, RHCC
- Status: Limited-term; 24 Months Only
- Location: Washington, D.C. and Eastern Time Zone preferred, remote possible within the U.S.
- Reports To: Director of Health
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
- Travel: Up to 25% of time both in development and fragile contexts.
Required Experience: Advanced degree (MPH, MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in public health, epidemiology, or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in global health program leadership, with significant expertise in malaria control and child health. Proven experience managing multi-country programs and complex donor-funded initiatives. Strong understanding of health systems strengthening and community health platforms. Demonstrated success in consortium management and stakeholder engagement.
Salary Range: The typical hiring range is $124,000 - $140,000 a year annually.
The JobWorld Vision is looking for a Technical Director to provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge (RHCC), a multi-country initiative aimed at improving child survival from malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Zambia. This role will ensure high-quality implementation, alignment with national health strategies, and effective coordination among founding partners—Rotary International, the Gates Foundation, and World Vision.
Additionally, this role will help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies, and personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Strategic & Technical Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the RHCC technical strategy, with a strong focus on malaria control and integrated community case management (iCCM).
- Ensure alignment with national health priorities and global best practices in child health and malaria.
- Guide adaptive management and strategic planning across country programs.
- Program Oversight & Implementation
- Oversee implementation of RHCC activities in DRC, Mozambique, and Zambia, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and donor commitments.
- Support Country Committees in co-designing and executing workplans rooted in national strategic plans.
- Lead technical vetting and capacity assessments of implementing partners.
- Consortium & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with founding partners, government counterparts, and implementing partners.
- Facilitate equitable and transparent collaboration across the RHCC consortium.
- Represent RHCC in high-level forums, donor meetings, and technical working groups.
- Financial & Operational Oversight
- Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial policies.
- Support annual audits, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Ensure robust MEL systems are in place to track progress, inform decision-making, and promote learning.
- Lead technical input into biannual, annual, and end-of-program reports.
- Promote evidence-based adaptations and knowledge dissemination.
- Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead a multi-disciplinary, multi-country technical team.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- Support capacity strengthening of Rotary Country Committees and implementing partners.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Maintain and update risk registers; oversee implementation of safeguarding and compliance protocols.
- Respond to audits, investigations, and donor reviews.
- Communication & Advocacy
- Oversee development of technical briefs, success stories, and advocacy materials.
- Ensure visibility of RHCC achievements through strategic communications.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work culture.
- Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
