The Sola Salon locations in Bowie, Woodmore, Waldorf, Clinton, and Greenbelt Maryland are franchise locations owned and operated by American Salons, LLC.

Position:
General Manager

As the General Manager, you will join our Corporate Operations team to ensure the success and growth of our locations in the DMV market. This position will be responsible for timely and complete work to the standards of the company. A new opportunity exists within a growing company to ensure quality operations in all our Maryland locations. Coming from a retail background where you have overseen a team, many locations and facility maintenance is ideal.

This is a full‑time position with some nights and weekends required. Our beauty professionals have 24/7 access to the salon, so it is sometimes necessary to work before or after usual business hours to accommodate their schedules. The right person for this position is enthusiastic about supporting others’s success, has a proven ability to communicate, is organized and detail‑oriented, and can assist in developing effective systems and executing processes.

  • Full responsibility for market
  • Daily on‑site visits (community engagement)
  • Weekly touchpoints with Leasing Manager(s)
  • KPI responsibilities for Leasing Manager

  • Change management
  • Lead flow process
Stylist Retention
  • Education classes (Sola Pro)
  • Organizing / managing local events
  • Aids in yearly price increase discussions (as needed)
  • Non‑renewals discussions with Leasing Manager(s)
  • Supports eviction processes with Leasing Manager(s) (as needed)
  • “Stylist Relations” budget upkeep
  • Stands in to support locations when Leasing Manager(s) cannot
Training & Development
  • Support CEO on hire / terminations / PIP’s
  • Employee assessments / performance evaluation (cascade / execute)
  • Supports / leads various training calls
  • Fosters accountability
  • Customer service / escalation for pros
  • Knowledge of local competitors and shops
  • Attend marketing calls
  • Supports marketing initiatives
  • Property management relationships
Business Analytics
  • P&L Management / budgeting within market
  • Scorecard review (monthly)
  • Rent Manager reports review (vacancy / occupancy / move in/out)
Facilities
  • Ensuring maintenance priorities are met
  • Audit / approve all expenses
  • Manage all contractor / vendor accounts
  • Acquisition and new build support
  • Works with Sr. FM on building & maintenance SOPs
  • Supports Sr. FM with facilities strategy
  • Hiring and training of all Leasing Manager(s)
  • Ensure all facilities are in excellent working order
  • Ensure facilities have quality tenants
  • P&L Management
  • Mentor, train, and develop your team
Area General Manager Qualifications
  • Five+ years in a General Manager or Area Manager position with more than 3 direct reports
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and ensure vendor relations are positive
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently

Compensation
  • The salary range for this role starts at $85,000 annually and is commensurate with experience
  • This is a salary exempt position. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. All bonuses are subject to CEO approval
