Key Responsibilities- Manages US Construction Health and Safety staffing to support ongoing projects nationwide.
- Develops, organizes, and implements Environmental Health and Safety programs that meet or exceed local, regional, and national regulatory compliance standards, along with NTT GID corporate values.
- Develops, delivers and reports critical success indicators to senior leadership.
- Provides a strategic vision for a safe work environment for employees, clients, contractors, and subcontractors, including facility assessments and training programs.
- Oversees the creation, publication and maintenance of corporate safety policy, safe work practices, and associated procedural documentation.
- Assesses current safety programs for compliance and effectiveness, and identifies improvement areas.
- Administers, directs, and manages compliance with the Illness and Injury Prevention Program and accident prevention efforts.
- Tracks incident metrics and applies findings.
- Oversees development and maintenance of facility evacuation procedures and coordinates periodic drills.
- Coordinates and participates in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Initiates, performs, and documents jobsite inspections and audits emphasizing hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors in data centers and construction sites with contractor’s onsite safety team.
- Schedules, coordinates, and conducts safety meetings and training programs; maintains employee safety training records.
- Facilitates safety committee meetings and related activities, documenting minutes and corrective actions.
- Assists in coordinating new hire safety orientation, annual risk/safety training, remedial safety training, and First Aid/CPR and AED training.
- Reviews job hazard assessments and recommends controls, including substitution, PPE, work practice changes, and engineering controls.
- Ensures injury reports are completed promptly; conducts injury prevention meetings and recommends corrective actions.
- Assists personnel in incident investigation, safety inspections, incident reporting, and compliance with safety laws and regulations.
- Experienced with United States occupational health and safety regulations including OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ASTM, NIOSH, EPA, ANSI and other industry standards.
- Capable of effectively utilizing Microsoft Office applications for communications and data evaluation.
- College degree required, preferred in Occupational Safety, Health, and/or Environmental (or equivalent).
- CSP or similar EHS certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years in a Construction EHS Management role in a national environment associated with mid to large-scale construction, construction management, data center or renewables organization, with a global program or project management focus; leadership experience is an advantage.
- Regularly moves equipment and hardware up to 35 lbs.
- Frequently moves about inside and outside of data center/facility.
- Remains stationary for long periods.
- Ascends/descends a ladder and performs duties atop a raised platform.
- Navigates construction sites including stairs, roofs, scaffolds.
- Positions self in small spaces.
- Operates computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
- Performs work during US business hours and time zones.
- Work onsite at a data center location when required.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Travel required 50% of time.
- Primarily perform work from a remote location with a stable internet connection.
