Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Project Manager, Vertical Lead to join our team. The position reports to the Head of Commercial Project Management and will have Team Lead responsibilities for 2 to 3 individuals. The role can be based out of Peachtree Corners, Georgia (Part of Greater Atlanta) or remote (must be self-starter).
The Senior Commercial Project Manager (CPM), Vertical Lead is responsible for all commercial aspects related to customer contracts—from the sales phase to execution, to project completion. Responsibilities encompass project controlling, performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. The CPM will partner with Customers, Suppliers, Project Managers, Engineers, Sales, Procurement, Legal, Finance colleagues, and internal and external Auditors.
- Project Controlling:
- Full ownership of project P&L responsibility and cash flow performance
- Responsibilities including profitability monitoring and ensure cost over-runs are addressed
- Lead project status reviews and NCC Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to ensure feedback is provided to key stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate forecast of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow on a yearly and monthly basis, analyzing and recording assumptions to explain deviations and achieve forecast goals.
- Collaborate with Factory/Operations to ensure profitability deviations between planned and actual costs are identified and corrective measures are executed.
- Risk Management:
- Proficient understanding of commercial contracts to identify risks and lead the team in risk mitigation measures
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify, report, avoid or mitigate non-conformance costs; support implementation of lessons learned into projects and the organization
- Active management of the risk registry to ensure financial recognition of business exposure
- Commercial:
- Be the trusted partner to Business Vertical Lead and Program Managers by leading and educating partners in all financial and compliance topics
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders such as Business Management, customers, and suppliers
- Actively participate in commercial negotiations with customers, leading from the commercial perspective and ensuring price calculations and proposals are beneficial to Siemens
- Proactively manage backlog and optimize milestone schedules to maximize free cash flow
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related Business degree.
- Minimum of 7 years working in a finance role with experience in Financial Planning and Controlling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting principles in alignment with Financial Reporting Guidelines, International Financial Reporting Guidelines and US GAAP.
- Ability to read and interpret contract conditions.
- Deep expertise in Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting and project controlling, including accurate forecasting, risk and opportunity management, and effective currency handling across complex projects.
- Proven success in contract negotiations, including customer change orders, claims management, and vendor negotiations—ensuring project profitability and strategic alignment.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Master’s or MBA with knowledge of SAP and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading projects in financial/commercial capacity.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
