Job Summary:

As General Manager, Management Consulting, you will be responsible for building and scaling a new, high-impact business line. This senior leadership role requires a rare combination of strategic vision, commercial acumen, and hands-on execution. You will be accountable for defining and executing the overall Management Consulting strategy, leading the effort to identify market opportunities, define a compelling value proposition, and build the operational foundation needed to launch and grow a high-performing Management Consulting offering from the ground up.

In this role, you will navigate a fast-paced, matrixed organization, align with executives, secure stakeholder buy-in, and rally cross-functional teams around shared goals.

This role is both strategic and executional. You’ll shape client solutions, engage with both new and existing clients, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Talent Operations, and Delivery to ensure the offering is scalable, profitable, and aligned with client needs. Responsibilities

  • Your primary objective will be to ensure the success of the business, measured by revenue growth, pipeline health, and gross margin. As the single accountable owner for the business P&L, you will optimize supply and demand, drive top-line growth, and improve operational efficiency. You will work with Executive and Senior Leadership to ensure alignment with Toptal’s growth goals and uphold the Toptal brand.
  • Analyze market and industry opportunities to identify high-potential areas. Build and test new offerings with clients using agile feedback to achieve product-market fit. Lead the creation of an execution plan with Marketing and Talent Operations to ensure the right talent and solutions are available to deliver on demand to clients.
  • Work front-line with clients as a trusted business partner while coordinating cross-functionally with Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Sales. Establish robust analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine strategy and achieve ongoing improvement.
  • Lead by example in launching new ventures, transforming them into substantial revenue opportunities, and driving growth for Toptal.
Qualifications and

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with strong understanding of operations and management principles.
  • 3+ years of P&L ownership experience.
  • Deep connections within the HLS industry with an active network of relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience in a professional services organization driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated success in building and launching a new business or product offering from scratch; entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
  • Experience at a technology or hyper-growth company preferred.
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier firm is preferred but not required.
  • Leadership experience with responsibility for business results in a fast-paced, multi-function environment.
