Accounting Manager

We are looking for:
An experienced accountant to oversee our Digital Accounting Products and services for nonprofits and to supervise Public Media Company’s internal financials. The ideal candidate is both numbers and people-oriented, with experience coordinating monthly closes, audits, budgets, and forecasting. They should be an excellent communicator, supervisor, collaborator, and project manager.
A typical day might include:
Engaging in a variety of rewarding tasks, supporting nonprofit professionals in understanding and monitoring their effectiveness. You should have a strong accounting background, with 5+ years of relevant experience and 8-10 years of business experience. You will manage complex client engagements with minimal supervision, prioritize multiple deliverables, and ensure client outcomes are achieved.
This role involves providing accounting and financial consulting, as well as digital CFO services to assigned clients. You will oversee the work of the Accounting Supervisor and Senior Accountant, make decisions on accounting and operational issues, and collaborate with the CEO, team members, and clients to resolve complex situations.
You will lead client engagements, identify cost-saving and streamlining opportunities, forecast potential issues, and provide guidance. Ensuring strong controls for audits and fostering meaningful client relationships are key aspects of this role.
Your daily responsibilities may include:
- Overseeing timely payroll submissions, bill payments, and fund transfers
- Reviewing client books monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Preparing financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, and narratives for clients and committees
- Leading virtual CFO meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Managing key transactions and grant awards, ensuring proper accounting procedures
- Ensuring adherence to accounting processes and practices
- Supervising, training, and mentoring team members and client staff
- Managing annual budgets for clients
- Handling specialized projects requiring technical expertise
- Ensuring timely completion of client filings and services
- Providing guidance on accounting treatments and educating clients as needed
- Coordinating annual audits, 990 filings, and CPB reports
- Improving and customizing client services for efficiency and accuracy
- Supporting internal team members with technical assistance
- Engaging in business development and preparing proposals and agreements

The compensation and benefits:
- Salary range: $90K to $110K, based on experience and skills
- Reports to:

Requirements:
This role may be suitable if you:
