Work Arrangement
  • Work from home position with at least 50% travel to DE, MD, PA, NJ, and NY.
Purpose and Summary

The Manager of Operations, Safety and Regulatory is responsible for safety, environmental, transportation, and regulatory compliance for GROWMARK FS. This role coordinates with Region Managers and Location Managers on construction, maintenance, repairs, permits, budgeting, license applications, and invoicing, and supports the annual capital budget process.

Supervision and Leadership

Supervises and develops the Environmental Health and Safety Associate and the Transportation, Regulatory/Fixed Assets Manager, setting expectations and maintaining performance standards.

Essential Job Functions
  • Implement EHS policies and programs to protect human and physical resources.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies to ensure employee and customer safety.
  • Collaborate with GROWMARK Safety and Compliance to stay current with regulations.
  • Conduct audit procedures and monitoring of EHS performance.
  • Prepare reports and recommend operational improvements.
  • Monitor applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respond to crisis-related emergencies.
  • Conduct accident investigations and develop prevention procedures.
  • Assist with environmental permits, records, and reporting.
  • Provide training and communications on environmental compliance.
  • Develop plans to meet state and federal environmental requirements and DOT regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training for all employees.
  • Coordinate the annual capital expenditure process within budget.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of machines, application equipment and trucks.
  • Coordinate purchasing of facility equipment, rolling stock, and capital projects.
  • Monitor capital expenditures, manage license applications, track progress, and process invoices.
  • Negotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers.
  • Develop plans to relocate underutilized rolling stock.
Other Job Functions
  • Assist local emergency response training.
  • Provide research and answers on environmental regulations.
  • Act as liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend training and compliance programs.
  • Encourage local support and implementation of programs.
  • Coordinate with GROWMARK, Inc. safety, insurance, and environmental personnel.
  • Assist with environmental site assessments and cleanups.
  • Support company goals through collaboration.
  • Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and compliance programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial technology, or related field, and 3-5 years of safety‑related experience.
  • Business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision‑making, and skill development.
  • Professional communication skills: interpersonal, written, verbal, persuasion, presentation.
  • Ability to respond to crisis‑related emergencies.
  • Analytical skills to generate programs, reports, and resources.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record.
  • Independent travel, including overnight.
  • Physical ability to use lifts, stairs, and ladders for inspections.
  • Willingness to participate in required training.
