Warren Averett Executive Search is seeking an experienced government accounting professional for a Gulf Shores, AL based company. This person can work REMOTE from the area but be physically located locally for in person meetings throughout the week. This Controller will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulations like the FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA guidelines. Key duties include managing the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and project accounting;

preparing and analyzing financial statements; and supporting internal and external audits. They are also responsible for supervising accounting staff, accounting policies, and collaborating with other departments like contracts and program management. Requirements to apply:

• Must be local to the area or willing to relocate to the area for this remote position
• Strong knowledge of government accounting principles and regulations (FAR, DFARS, CAS, etc.).
• Experience with government accounting systems like Unanet or Deltek Costpoint
• Understands government contracting and indirect rates, REQUIRED
• Experience with DCAA and DCMA audits and inquiries would be a plus but not required
