The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing daily warehouse operations on their designated shift, including scheduling, inbound/outbound loading, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping.

• Perform yard checks, ensuring trailers are properly staged.
• Verify all paperwork from the previous day is distributed.
• Oversee loading/unloading of carriers and trailer availability.
• Conduct dock safety checks.
• Track customer inventory and conduct physical counts.
• Process orders, bills, and inventory controls.
• Oversee picking, staging, and loading of orders.
• Schedule carriers for customer orders.
• Manage personnel, schedule hours, handle performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Train forklift operators on company and customer freight procedures.
• Optimize warehouse space and layout.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and meet food safety requirements.

• Warehouse management experience with inventory control systems.
• Proficiency in Excel, data entry, and general computer skills.
• Experience managing a staff of 30+ employees across multiple shifts.
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership, budgeting, and motivational abilities.
• Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and learning application software.

• Sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Teamwork ability.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Flexibility to work overtime and cover other shifts.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.

• 3 to 5 years of management experience.
• Experience in warehousing management.

• College degree preferred or extensive background in transportation warehouse management.
