LVN PROGRAM MANAGER
The LVN Program Manager plays a key role in supporting the health and well-being of adults with developmental disabilities attending our adult day program. The LVN Program Manager works in conjunction with the Program Director to implement the vision and mission of Marin Ventures. This role combines clinical oversight with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring that individuals receive high-quality, person-centered support that promotes independence, personal growth, and community participation.
The LVN Program Manager is responsible for implementing program plans and services for participants, and managing and supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The LVN collaborates closely with participants, their support team members, program management staff, and direct care staff to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding services for adults with developmental disabilities including reporting suspected abuse or neglect.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for the program.
- Substitutes on the floor as a DSP when needed.
- Participates in staff recruitment. Interviews and evaluates employee candidates. Makes hiring recommendations to Program Director.
- Orients, trains, and develops staff.
- Supervises DSP’s. Monitors job performance, completes performance evaluations, and makes recommendations regarding employee discipline.
- Supports a positive team culture that reflects the program’s values of empathy, inclusion, and consistency.
- Monitors program furnishings, equipment, and supplies and makes recommendations for expenditures to the Program Director. Ensures damaged items are not a safety hazard and are reported to maintenance staff and the program director.
- Authorizes paid time off for staff supervised. Oversees timely completion of time and attendance records. Verifies any remote work performed, and for whom the remote work was performed.
- Creates and implements remote activities and classes using remote technology, and supports and supervises DSPs in creating and implementing remote activities and classes;
- Trains DSPs on infection control, Covid-19 protocols, and any other emerging emergency infection control protocols. As well as ensures protocols are being followed by DSPs.
- Provides basic technical support and training as needed for DSPs in-person and using remote technology.
- Protects and promotes participants’ rights, including confidentiality, privacy, dignity and freedom from abuse.
- Interacts courteously and appropriately with participants, family members, visitors, staff from other agencies which serve our participants, and other Marin Ventures employees, under a variety of conditions and circumstances.
- Has the ability and desire to learn from and work cooperatively with others.
- Oversees vehicle use for the program. Reports repair and maintenance needs to the Executive Director.
- Participates in facility committees and task forces as appropriate.
- Follows and ensures all established policies, guidelines and procedures are followed by all in the department, including federal and state regulations, to assure safe practices and quality care of participants.
- Manages participant cases through a person-centered perspective as assigned, including ISP development, case file review and updating, report writing, developing specific goals related to in-person and remote services. Ensures that all documentation required by funding agencies is maintained.
- Models best practices for staff in interacting with, supporting, and engaging participants. Demonstrates implementation of program plans and services. Provides leadership and demonstrates team-building skills.
- Develops schedule for and leads staff meetings. Informs staff regarding participant programs and services changes. Works with Program Director to develop staff training and development plans.
- Coaches DSPs in developing lesson plans and daily schedules. Ensures implementation of participant programs and services. Determines staffing needs and makes independent decisions about program needs.
