Overview
The Housekeeping & Building Supervisor Coordinator is responsible for creating a clean, safe, functional and inspiring environment, a critical component of the YMCA experience. They provide leadership to the housekeeping and building supervisor teams, including day-to-day and deep cleaning schedules and responsibilities. This role leads a team to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, members and program participants through effective listening and communication, contributing to a welcoming and safe environment for all.
Expectations & Responsibilities: regular on-site presence is required. Remote work arrangements are not available for this position, though occasional remote work may be permitted with prior approval from the supervisor.

- Drive team engagement and effectiveness, modeling and setting high standards for service and leadership.
- Serve as a member of the branch, Housekeeping & Building Supervisor Department and YMCA leadership teams. Attend all scheduled meetings, including but not limited to branch team meetings, operation meetings, and leadership meetings.
- Foster a culture of trust and respect; address conflicts constructively; gain commitment and provide clarity; hold team members accountable and cultivate peer accountability; and achieve results to meet strategic and operational goals.
- Provide direct supervision to leads and frontline staff to ensure their professional development and success.
- Recognize, develop, and strategize department staffing needs.
- Manage and support through staffing, scheduling, payroll and programming. Follow all YMCA policies and industry-leading practices as well as local, state and federal regulations and laws.
- Create, implement and document an annual training/meeting calendar that meets or exceeds leading industry standards, YUSA standards and the association's general liability insurance recommendations.
- Seek and provide regular feedback: meet with all housekeeping and building supervisor staff twice per year; meet with housekeeping and building supervisor team six times per year; meet with association housekeeping and building supervisor peers monthly.
- Participate in committees as requested and support the Branch Executive Director through hosting and leading annual branch meetings.
- Collaborate with the Branch Executive Director in the hiring process.
- Partner with Branch Executive Director and association peers to develop the Association Housekeeping & Building Supervisor Staff Handbook, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date annually.
- Oversee daily cleaning tasks to ensure a spotless and welcoming facility (common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, and additional spaces).
- Develop and implement quality control measures to attract and retain members by ensuring the facility and grounds are functional, safe, clean, organized, and inspiring.
- Ensure a best-in-class member experience.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment; ensure timely replenishment, repair, and proper storage.
- Respond promptly to member and participant concerns, typically within 24-48 hours, across phone, email, and other channels.
- Develop and implement strategies to build capacity and provide exceptional customer experience using participant usage and feedback data.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding budgeted revenue while managing expenses.
- Participate in and support staff, annual, and capital campaigns.
- Be visible, accessible, and responsive in membership areas.
- Ensure all communication materials are accurate, updated, and brand compliant.
- Follow all Human Resource processes.
- Partner with association maintenance team to ensure a safe and effective preventative maintenance program that follows manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct daily rounds of facility and grounds to check cleanliness and provide staff resources as needed.
