Salary Range: £27,200 - £40,800

We are looking for a Team Leader to coach and develop hybrid and remote Household Claims Handlers. The role involves monitoring team activity, delivering high‑standard claims, providing feedback, and driving operational priorities to the team.
Shift PatternStandard hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 18:00.
Additional requirement: one Saturday per quarter, 9:00 – 17:00 (swapped with a week‑day off).
- Plan and prioritise work to ensure handlers meet performance measures; commercial awareness and customer service are paramount.
- Conduct regular 1:1 coaching sessions, reviews, and performance audits to support team development.
- Handle complex claims and policy queries escalated by handlers.
- Lead by example, motivating and mentoring the team to reach individual potential.
- Respond to complaints and escalations, including technical letter writing and appropriate feedback.
- Experience in leadership: appraisals, performance management, training, coaching, and capability management.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and multi‑tasking skills with proven team management.
- A background in Financial Services is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Minimum education:
4 GCSEs (C or above) including Maths and English, or equivalent. - Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Diplomatic communication with internal and external customers.
- Ability to construct complex letters effectively, ensuring clarity of technical insurance information.
