Community Relations Manager - Surrey Langley Sky Train Project Pay range

CA $81,500.00/yr - CA$/yr (Twelve month term contract)

Salary Range

CA $81,000 to CA $112,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Stakeholder Relations, the Community Relations Manager works closely with all members of the Project team to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in areas impacted by the Project. Working in a complex environment with a multi‑disciplinary team, this role will liaise between the Project Team, Project Contractors, and stakeholders to keep stakeholders informed about Project activities, address issues arising from construction, and support initiatives that contribute to the success of the Project.

This position is located at the Project office at 9900 King George Blvd, Surrey (at King George Sky Rail Station).

Key Accountabilities
  • Develops and implements engagement strategies for outreach to businesses, residents, community groups and other key stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Establishes positive, collaborative relationships with Project Partners (e.g. municipalities, Trans Link, etc.).
  • Liaises between stakeholders and Project Contractors to relay information, manage emerging issues, and develop solutions to mitigate impacts.
  • Leads the planning and logistics for community meetings, events, and public engagements.
  • Represents the Project at community meetings, events, pop‑ups and public engagements and fosters a collaborative approach that supports the success of the projects.
  • Regularly engages with businesses and residents along the alignment to understand concerns and issues; guides the development of solutions with stakeholders.
  • Maintains the stakeholder management database, generates reports, and analyzes engagement data.
  • Monitors the implementation of project agreement communications and engagement requirements during construction.
  • Supports the communications and engagement team with other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • University Degree and considerable experience in community, stakeholder, and government relations (Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
