Position Description Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises the work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain effective relationships with owners, subcontractors, etc. NW Construction is a Heavy Civil Construction Contractor based in Bozeman, Montana. NWC specializes in heavy civil construction, taking on projects both large and small.
Our work encompasses many areas of the construction industry, including but not limited to:
Dams, Hydroelectric, RCC, Concrete, Large and Small Diameter Piping, Sheet Piling, Site Work, Utilities, Slurry Walls, Demolition, Marine, Environmental Work, Drill and Shoot and Aggregate Processing. Project sites are generally located in Montana and the western United States.

Essential Functions
Responsible for ensuring the project meets or exceeds its financial objectives, by overseeing and monitoring each stage of the developmentCoordinates daily/weekly meeting with all the area superintendents and project engineer(s) to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs and long lead delivery timesManage all field operations and work sequence in conjunction with the Operations VP.Review project estimate or plan to determine estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projectOversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections. Also, review, approve and negotiate change orders.Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay of production Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, work closely with Project Manager and HR team to manage relationship with staff and craftForm and lead an effective project management team, define and delegate management responsibilities and set goalsResolve any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may ariseBe an effective leader, communicate with department leads regarding work scopesEnsure project superintendents understand and execute the work as requiredEnsure safety, quality and production is maintainedResponsible for project closeout. Secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retain ages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claimsCompetencies
Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.Extremely detail-oriented.Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.Thorough understanding of quality building practices.Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.Supervisory Responsibilities
