This manager role is part of our Operational Resilience team, which is more than Business Continuity – it provides expert advice and support across the organisation, working closely with senior stakeholders to keep people, assets and sites safe. The role involves strategy development, incident response, upskilling teams, and ensuring operational resilience principles are integrated throughout the business.
Whatyou'll do
- Shape and lead elements of a best‑in‑class operational resilience function, providing strategic and tactical subject‑matter expertise.
- Own the performance of Operational Resilience delivery at Sky, maintaining industry‑leading performance on key metrics and meeting agreed SLAs.
- Act as a business continuity expert and trusted business partner to senior leaders.
- Maintain a robust, well‑designed group‑wide control environment and ensure compliance.
- Test and improve resilience capabilities through exercises, stress‑tests, reverse stress‑tests, etc.
- Collaborate with market resilience leads to foster governance, guidance and support.
- Maintain up‑to‑date metrics on group‑wide resilience capability and present them to executive leadership.
- Liaise with a wide network of stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information that informs business decisions.
- Manage the delivery of resilience projects, ensuring high standards and efficient project management.
- Work with key group stakeholders (commercial, technology, etc.) to tie resilience principles into ways of working.
- Support senior leadership in the live response to major incidents or crises.
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external audit assignments covering crisis, continuity and emergency response.
- Collaborate across Group Resilience to drive continuous improvement.
- Deputise for the Head of Operational Resilience when appropriate.
- An excellent understanding of how resilience enables an organisation and can demonstrate its value.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to communicate at strategic through to operational levels.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyse issues and develop solutions.
- Creativity, challenging industry norms and adapting quickly to evolving requirements.
- Innovation in designing processes and solutions to deliver specific outcomes across all areas of operational resilience.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, relationship building, influencing and presenting at all levels.
- Solutions focused – measure output against resolved issues, problems or challenges.
- Iterative, high‑tempo delivery with minimal rework.
- Calm under pressure and able to execute clear command and control measures in stressful situations.
- Accepted CBCI qualification.

Sky offers a hybrid approach with a flexible balance between office and remote work. You’ll understand the specifics of this role during recruitment. The role includes a rotational on‑call responsibility – one week on a rotation basis, handling incidents and facilitating resolution outside regular hours.
