• Timonium Surgery Center in Timonium, MD. This state-of-the-art, multispecialty facility performs procedures in neuro, pain management, orthopedics, ENT. The ideal candidate will have Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) leadership experience or hospital surgical leadership experience with ASC exposure.
- Direct, coordinate, and control all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility while focusing on efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

- Serve, with any appointed committee, as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.
- Report pertinent facility activities to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
- Appoint a person responsible for the facility in the Administrator's absence.
- Plan for the services provided by the facility and its operation.
- Oversee the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement as applicable.
- Lead discussion/presentation during the Monthly Operations Review call with USPI's Home Office team.
- Deploy, monitor, and ensure USPI’s EDGETM is the foundation of the facility’s operational processes and integrated within the facility’s QPI program.
- Ensure compliance with USPI policies and procedures related to internal controls.
- Develop, monitor, and control staffing, operations budget, and capital budget.
- Develop, monitor, and control the purchasing plan to stay within the proposed budget and align with group purchasing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Negotiate and manage external contracts (physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance, purchasing agreements).
- Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.
- Foster positive interdepartmental relationships and act as liaison between USPI’s Home Office and facility staff.
- Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policy and procedure manuals for staff.
- Closely monitor variations in the facility’s financial performance to maintain cash flow.
- Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities.
- Manage exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with facility policies with sound principles of practice and fairness.
- Review employee performance as evaluated by managers; ensure reviews occur as scheduled or annually.
- Review and approve disciplinary actions and/or discharge of employees.
- Evaluate management performance and other staff as designated.
- Approve additions or deletions of positions and approve applicants for employment in new or vacant roles.
- Develop employee productivity analysis and ensure staffing efficiency in response to changes in surgical case volume.
- Implement a program of job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees.
- Manage all employee files and records.
- Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development and promote positive customer relations among staff and physicians.
- Ensure clinical programs and services comply with regulatory and accrediting body standards; collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee on evaluating and developing services.
- Manage clinical departments (nursing, central supply, medical records, housekeeping) and supervise contracted services (laboratory, radiology, pharmaceuticals, laundry, biomedical engineering).
- Monitor surgical and patient care equipment functionality through contracted services and follow up on repairs.
- Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility’s sales team in alignment with USPI’s Sales Plan and the facility’s business plan.
