Engineering Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, establishing the budgets and schedules of the projects in their department, and reporting metrics and statuses to the Technical Manager and the customer. They will provide leadership and direction to their direct reports and overall teams in terms of technical and non-technical guidance. They also will be responsible for helping to grow the business and execute the current work‑flow.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervisor

Role Responsibilities:

• Direct Reports:
  The supervisor will manage 7 to 10 direct reports, primarily engineers, handling day‑to‑day issues, challenges, and PTO

• Project Execution:
  The supervisor is responsible for ensuring projects are executed properly, with well‑thought‑out designs and adherence to quality standards.

• Operational Procedures:
  The supervisor will also be involved in updating and improving operational procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Oversight and QAQC:

• Project Guidance:
  The supervisor will provide guidance on project direction, ensuring the execution team is prepared and aligned with project goals.

• Mentoring:
  The supervisor will mentor team members, addressing questions and providing support to enhance their skills and performance.

• QAQC Involvement:
  The supervisor may get involved in QAQC tasks, ensuring project quality and adherence to standards.

• Responsible Charge:
  The supervisor will have some responsible charge tasks, overseeing project execution and ensuring compliance with requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A professional engineer license is a must‑have qualification for the supervisor role.

• Candidates must have at least five years of experience in transmission line engineering.

• Candidates should have an understanding of project management, including budgeting and adherence to timelines.

• Candidates need to understand quality control processes, including developing and using checklists to ensure project quality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $72.11/hr.
