About the RoleThe Mining Remediation Authority’s Environment Department addresses water pollution from abandoned coal and metal mines across Britain, developing new schemes and supporting over 75 existing mine water treatment schemes. We are recruiting a permanent, full‑time Project Manager to lead day‑to‑day delivery of projects within our Water and Abandoned Mine Water (WAMM) programme.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a portfolio of projects to remediate contaminated water from historic metal mines, including new schemes and refurbishments.
- Deliver projects within agreed budgets and milestones.
- Collaborate with technical, operations, innovations and R&D teams to find optimal solutions and maximise commercial opportunities.
- Prepare project investment papers to obtain funding.
- Manage stakeholders and statutory bodies, obtaining consents and permissions.
- Work with consultants and contractors, preferably through NEC contracts.
- Experience of project management.
- Excellent budget, programme and risk management skills.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal skills and self‑motivation.
- The ability to work with other teams to deliver projects.
- Liaison, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Working in water, wastewater treatment or environmental sectors.
- Experience identifying and developing solutions for constrained and complex water remediation projects.
- Experience delivering refurbishment of existing assets.
Hybrid working (average 2 days at Mansfield office).
