As a Medical Scientific Liaison Head (MSL Head), you will be responsible for developing the strategy and oversee the deployment of tactical plans for engagement with the medical / scientific community and lead and manage the MSL team, ensuring the MSL’s engage in scientific exchange as peers and trusted advisors.

• Coach, train and manage MSL performance including monitoring metrics towards set KPIs ensuring excellence in execution of the MSL role towards achieving strategic and tactical goals.
• Understand and meet needs of product lifecycle management through resource deployment planning meeting stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Think strategically in the development and execution of tactical Medical Engagement Plans and MSL tools aligned with the Brand strategic focus.
• Ensure that MSLs have robust up-to-date scientific knowledge to facilitate the MSL in timely, appropriate, balanced, scientific exchanges with key internal and external experts.
• Demonstrate the value of Astellas medical and the value of Astellas products through supporting strong MSL relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross functionally with internal stakeholders to support the generation and communication of scientific and medical insights to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure excellence in execution of all governance processes and manage MSL resources and budgets.

• Experience with in a similar role in Medical Affairs, specially with Medical Scientific Liaison area of responsibilities.
• Strong team management experience.
• Fluent in Italian and English languages.

• Experience working in a global environment.
• Project Management and Risk identification skills.

• Master’s degree in health‑related Sciences or equivalent.

• This is a permanent, full‑time position.
• Location :
  This position is based in Milan, Italy.
• This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 2 days per week in our respective local affiliate office in Milan. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
