Overview
Executive Director, San Luis Obispo Master Chorale
Proposed start date:
February 2, 2026
Position:
Executive Director for San Luis Obispo Master Chorale, a 501(c) non-profit corporation.
Hours:
average 10-20 per week. Primarily work from home. Salary paid monthly.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the SLO Master Chorale which each year produces three large-scale performances at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, CA. Tasks include communications, financial oversight, fundraising, grant writing/reporting, marketing, logistics, community engagement, record maintenance, and artistic administration. Working closely with the Music Director and the Board, the Executive serves as the administrative/community face of the organization.
- Work from home an average of approximately 10-20 hours per week (depending on the concert schedule).
- Paid monthly throughout the year at a rate based on qualifications and experience, with periodic performance reviews.
- Executive management experience and proven leadership skills; experience in similar organizations is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, financial management, project management, and verbal and written communication skills, including experience with digital media and business software.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to execute.
- Successful track record in fundraising.
- Passion for the role of the arts in the community.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance and best practices.
- Demonstrates integrity, positive energy, strong interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. Collaborative and transparent when dealing with an Artistic Director, contractors and a Board of Directors.
- Willingness to work a few evenings and weekends for concerts/events.
- A bachelor s or higher degree or demonstrated skills and experience.
