About

The Role

We’re looking for an ERP Business Systems Manager to shape, evolve, and optimise our enterprise systems so they continue to support a modern, efficient, and data‑driven Council. You will oversee the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of the Council’s ERP solution and all associated components. You’ll act as the Design Authority for the platform, ensuring that every change, enhancement, and integration aligns with organisational standards, governance expectations, and long‑term direction.

You will lead the ERP Team, provide expert guidance to stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure that the system remains robust, compliant, and fit for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the strategic roadmap for the ERP solution and ensure alignment with Council priorities and supplier product direction.
  • Act as the authority for architectural and functional changes across the ERP ecosystem.
  • Oversee system configuration, integrations, upgrades, data structures, and security.
  • Ensure the stability, availability, and performance of critical business systems.
  • Manage and develop the ERP Team, including recruitment, performance, wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
  • Work closely with internal departments and programme teams to support change initiatives and provide expert advice.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and improved processes to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
  • Produce and maintain documentation covering architecture, processes, compliance, and technical standards.
  • Manage risks, issues, procurement, licensing, and supplier relationships.
  • Contribute to capital programme planning and manage associated budgets.
What You’ll Need
  • Significant experience in IT management and governance of ICT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise business processes and ERP systems (preferably Agresso).
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and overseeing complex system‑related projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience working with integrations, data structures, release management, and technical architecture.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, customer‑centred service delivery, and best practice.
What We Offer
  • A leadership role that shapes how the Council operates through its core business systems.
  • Opportunities to innovate, streamline processes, and introduce transformational technologies.
  • A collaborative Digital & IT service committed to high standards and forward‑thinking approaches.
  • Hybrid working arrangements and a supportive environment where development is encouraged.
Why Join Us?

This is your chance to take ownership of a mission‑critical digital platform and help modernise how services across the Council operate. You will be central to ensuring our ERP solution remains stable, scalable, and aligned to the needs of a changing organisation, while supporting the delivery of better outcomes for staff, partners, and the community we serve.
