The Head of FP&A will lead all financial planning, forecasting, and analytical activities for a rapidly scaling renewable energy developer. With a portfolio currently concentrated in early stage and mid stage development, plus a small number of projects entering construction, this role is critical in shaping financial strategy, capital deployment, and organisational readiness for growth.

The Head of FP&A partners closely with Development, Commercial, Construction, and the Executive team to evaluate pipeline prioritisation, support project investment decisions, and provide forward looking insights in an environment where cash flow is largely development driven with a transition to construction imminent.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, with emphasis on development spend, milestone based cash flows, and construction stage capital needs.
- Build long range models reflecting pipeline progression assumptions, permitting timelines, grid connection uncertainty, and capital deployment sequencing.
- Conduct scenario planning to inform strategic decisions under varying development success rates and market conditions.
- Lead standardisation of modelling and processes and related controls for models and data.
- Partner with Commercial to assess project viability, capex/opex assumptions, interconnection costs, yield expectations, permitting risk, and market price projections.
- Support project prioritisation and pipeline shaping based on strategic fit, NPV, IRR, risk profile, and expected exit or hold strategy.
- Work closely with Commercial and Finance teams to prepare financial materials for Board, shareholders, lenders, and investors.
- Provide sensitivity analysis on capex inflation, interest rates, construction contingencies, and merchant market exposure.
- Forecast development cash burn, construction financing timing, capital call requirements, and working capital needs over multiple years.
- Ensure the company remains financially resilient in a pre revenue or near pre revenue environment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO, and business unit leaders, shaping strategic decisions through rigorous financial analysis.
- Partner with Construction teams to build cost control processes for projects transitioning from development to construction.
- Drive a culture of transparency, data driven decision making, and cross functional collaboration.
- Establish FP&A as a strategic partner embedded across the development lifecycle.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA;
- Strong financial modelling capabilities, including complex project and portfolio models.
- Experience in dealing with external investors and stakeholders particularly in providing financial insights and responding to information requests.
- Experience supporting project finance transactions, and commercial negotiations.
- Proven leadership abilities within fast growing, cross functional teams.
