The post-holder will be part of the Business Change team providing project management services and competencies to support strategic programmes and activity within the Change portfolio. They will drive, lead and manage change activity to increase the efficiency and outcomes for Wokingham Borough Council and its residents, working collaboratively with senior and key stakeholders and ensuring the successful implementation of programmes/projects.
Responsibilities- Trained in PRINCE2 and/or equivalent project management methodology.
- Educated to degree level (or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and aptitude).
- Minimum of 2 years of Project Management experience with evidence of successful delivery.
- Experience of working with third‑party providers.
- Proven stakeholder management, liaising with managers and staff at all levels.
- Strong project planning skills and experience using MS Project.
- Good facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and make decisions to secure required results.
- Ability to prioritise project activity and produce clear, structured documentation and reporting.
- Analytical ability to process complex information from multiple sources.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Experience using Microsoft applications including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of local government.
- Relevant training in public sector procurement, change management or risk management.
- Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
- Role may require occasional evening work or attendance at evening meetings.
- Supports Finance Business Partners in monitoring budget spend on projects and programmes.
