AboutYou
You are an organised and confident leader with strong management skills and the ability to motivate a team to deliver a high‑quality, reliable service. You have an interest in understanding and managing change within the Land Charges sector, balancing improvement with service continuity. Experience in a land charges team is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, adaptability and a willingness to learn are just as important for success in this role.
AboutThe Team
You will lead a small team which currently provides an efficient and reliable Local Land Charges Service. This is an exciting time to join the Land Charges team. We have recently transferred to a new IT system and an initial responsibility of this role will be embedding this system in the operation of the section and developing appropriate procedures around it.
We are also preparing for the migration of Local Land Charges data to the national register and there will be significant opportunities to shape the future of the service after this migration is completed. Although we embrace remote working, our team remains cohesive, engaging in regular virtual meetings and maintaining close collaboration with other officers within the land charges section and across the Council as a whole.
- To lead the Land Charges Team to provide an efficient, reliable, and prompt local land charges service in line with statutory functions and the Council’s objectives.
- To provide appropriate performance and financial reporting to the Assistant Director:
Planning. - To keep up to date with changes in legislation, policies and procedures and respond to these changes in a positive manner.
