Job Summary
The Head of Arts is the primary point of contact to the sector in Wales. Full-time, based in Cardiff.
Job DescriptionThe role requires highly developed influencing skills and an instinctive approach to problem-solving. The post holder will also be creative, dynamic, proactive and highly efficient.
The role is based in the Cardiff office, though some home-working is possible. Travel and occasional attendance at evening events are necessary for this position.
Job Requirements- Highly development and confident communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to analyse and understand, thinking laterally and identifying creative solutions to organisational challenges
- Highly developed interviewing skills - ability to listen and question
- Accomplished planning, organisational, administrative and time management skills
- A minimum of 3 years' management experience in an arts environment
- Proven track-record of partnership development or collaborative working
- Customer care background (dealing with the public)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and credibility with professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
- Open, positive and engaging team player with the drive to work independently
- Discreet and able to deal with confidential, sensitive information
- Diplomatic and calm under pressure

Job Responsibilities- To promote A&B Cymru's mission and services and provide information and advice on the charity's work to business and the arts;
- To develop and implement an Arts Development strategy for A&B Cymru, playing a key role in sustaining and developing the arts membership of A&B Cymru;
- To account manage the majority of A&B Cymru's arts members in South & West Wales, ensuring a high level of service delivery. This includes assessing the needs of organisations and practitioners during one-to-one advice surgeries, as required;
- To oversee the administration of Arts Membership across Wales, ensuring income is carefully monitored and renewals are timely and efficient;
- To manage the Hodge Foundation Bursary programme across Wales;
- To co-manage the Professional Development Programmes in South & West Wales;
- To line manage the Arts Development Manager, monitoring performance against targets, providing motivation and support;
