Social Work Team Manager - Duty & Assessment

12 month Fixed-Term Contract

Hybrid - 2 days in the office

As Team Manager, you will provide strong operational leadership across the service, working closely with the Head of Service and directly managing Assistant Team Managers and a Family Support Worker. You will ensure high-quality practice, clear decision-making and effective case oversight, always keeping the best interests of children, young people and families at the centre of your work. Championing Achieving for Children’s practice model and embedding Signs of Safety across the service, you will also represent the organisation in key multi-agency forums.

This role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week based in the office, alongside flexible home working. You will lead the team’s professional development, promote a positive and collaborative culture, and support continuous learning and improvement, helping build a service that is innovative, supportive and focused on delivering excellent outcomes for both families and staff.

You will be a qualified and experienced social work professional with a recognised social work degree and an active Social Work England registrati
on, alongside a strong commitment to continuous professional development. You will have significant frontline safeguarding experience, including managing complex cases and contributing to court work, as well as proven experience leading teams, managing performance and supporting professional development to deliver high-quality outcomes for children and families.

You will be confident working in multi-agency environments, using sound risk management and quality assurance practices to ensure excellent standards of care. Strong organisational, communication and digital skills are essential, along with the ability to work flexibly and independently. A full, active driving licence and access to a car are required to support work across service areas. Most importantly, you will share Achieving for Children’s values, bringing energy, compassion and a collaborative approach to safeguarding and improving the lives of children and young people.
