Position: Deputy Manager- Fostering Agency (Permanent)
Deputy Regional Manager – South West England

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Regional Manager to join a reputable organisation specialising in fostering and children’s services in the South West region. The Deputy Regional Manager will support the Regional Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fostering service, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality care to children and young people. This is a permanent, home-based role with regular weekly attendance at a regional office in South West England.

The ideal candidate will possess a recognised social work qualification, registered with Social Work England, and have a strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services. You will be committed to child-centred practice, supporting foster carers and supervising Social Supervising Social Workers (SSSWs) to meet regulatory and organisational requirements.

Your role will include managing performance, reviewing foster and children’s files, and promoting best practices to improve outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities include supporting the recruitment, matching, and retention of foster carers, overseeing placements, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies. The Deputy Regional Manager will work closely with the Regional Manager to develop services within the region, stay informed on legislation and sector developments, and contribute to quality assurance and audit processes. Proven leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritise and plan workloads effectively are essential for success in this role.

Requirements:

* Recognised and accredited social work qualification

* Social Work England registration

* Knowledge of Ofsted standards, Children Act legislation, and fostering regulations

* Strong safeguarding expertise

* Excellent administrative, communication, and leadership skills

* Experience managing team performance and conducting audits

* Ability to manage complex cases and support foster carer development

Location:

Home-based with regional office attendance in South West England

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus on call responsibilities
Salary: £45,000 plus discretionary PRP bonus
