RETAIL PORTFOLIO COMPLIANCE LEAD (FACILITIES MANAGEMENT)

Hours of work: 40 hrs per week

Contract Type:
Permanent

We are seeking a senior, client‑facing Retail Portfolio Compliance Lead to be accountable for the delivery of compliance services across a major banking client’s retail branch network.

This role is responsible for ensuring statutory inspections and associated corrective actions are delivered in line with legislative, contractual, and best‑practice requirements.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise, oversee performance reporting, identify risks and opportunities, and develop proportionate, costed solutions.

The role combines site visits with remote working, strong stakeholder engagement, and oversight of compliance delivery across a large, multi‑site retail portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery and documentation of statutory compliance inspections across the retail portfolio (including WRA, LOLER and Pressure Systems).
  • Manage corrective work orders, ensuring completion within agreed SLAs and supported by appropriate evidence.
  • Track planned and ongoing compliance activities to ensure KPIs and contractual targets are met.
  • Produce routine performance reporting covering inspection completion, corrective works status, delivery partner performance, and evidence quality.
  • Visit sites to carry out audits and compliance checks, identifying non‑compliance and supporting remediation.
  • Conduct contractual reviews to ensure service delivery aligns with risk, legislation, and best practice.
  • Develop and deliver a compliance service line strategy and transformation programme.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and manage key stakeholders across the client, internal teams, and external delivery partners.
About You
  • Proven experience delivering compliance services across multiple sites within a facilities management environment.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least one area such as Asbestos, Fire Safety, Water Safety, Lifts, Radon Safety, or Pressure Systems.
  • Recognised qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry guidance (including L8).
  • Confidence working with large data sets to monitor performance and identify risk or improvement areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and present information effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using CAFM systems (ideally Maximo or Tririga).
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to client sites.
