Youth Justice Business Manager

Role Overview

Sandwell Youth Justice Service is seeking a Youth Justice Business Manager to support the strategic and operational delivery of the service. The role focuses on statutory compliance, performance management, data quality, system oversight and finance processes.

• Ensure statutory returns and performance requirements for the Youth Justice Board, Home Office and other bodies are fully understood, planned and delivered accurately and on time.
• Develop, maintain and present high‑quality performance information, including trackers, dashboards and reports to support service improvement and management oversight.
• Act as the lead officer for performance data quality, analysis and reporting within the Youth Justice Service, including preparation for HMIP inspections.
• Serve as the single point of contact with system suppliers such as CACI/Child View, providing specialist advice, resolving issues and supporting system development.
• Lead the delivery of systems and data training for staff to promote accurate and consistent recording practice.
• Oversee finance processes within the service, monitoring income, supporting invoicing and liaising with finance colleagues.
• Maintain clear procedures and ensure compliance with information governance requirements, including GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation.
• Work proactively with managers and practitioners to strengthen the use of performance information across the service.

• Strong understanding of Youth Justice, including statutory responsibilities, performance frameworks and inspection expectations.
• Significant experience working in a Youth Justice environment with credibility to collaborate with managers, practitioners and partners.
• Experience collecting, analysing and interpreting performance and numerical data to produce meaningful management information.
• Knowledge and experience of the CACI/Child View system is highly desirable; strong transferable systems experience and a willingness to develop CACI expertise will also be considered.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly to a range of audiences.
• Motivated self‑starter able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.

• Salary:
  Grade F £37,280 – £41,771 per annum.
• Hybrid working – 37 hours per week.
