Mechanical Project Manager - Job Overview

Mechanical Project Manager required for an award‑winning HVAC company with regional offices throughout the UK. In line with continuous growth in the project division, we are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join our expanding Projects division.

The Mechanical Project Manager will manage projects from initial inception to handover, including site visits, surveys, designs, estimations and quotations, negotiating and purchasing materials, supervising labour, commissioning, client training and O&M’s. The role ensures that the project is delivered within budget and on time. The manager will lead a team of at least two direct PAYE Installation Engineers and additional sub‑contractors.

Required experience:

at least five years proven experience delivering large‑scale AHU, Chiller, VRV, VRF, Boiler and ventilation projects. The role is 50% home/office based and 50% site based.

  • Basic Salary £65,000 - £75,000 DOE

Job Requirements
  • Experience project managing AHUs, VRV/VRF, ducting, boiler and chiller replacements & upgrades
  • Practical and hands‑on experience is advantageous, but technical mastery, communication skills and autonomy are equally important
  • Minimum five years’ experience with responsibility for running projects and managing a team of engineers who have reported directly to the candidate
  • Computer literate, proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and MS Project
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good attention to detail
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Ideally based in the South East
