The Role:

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of SEMO, ensuring the delivery of its core functions, including market operations, settlement, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the SEMO Governing Committee, you will oversee the strategic direction of the business, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and market objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing strategic leadership to define and deliver SEMO's objectives in compliance with regulatory obligations. Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of market operations, settlement, and compliance functions. Maintaining robust governance frameworks and ensuring transparent reporting to the SEMO Governing Committee. Building and maintaining effective relationships with regulators, market participants, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. Leading financial and resource planning to align with long-term capability needs and regulatory requirements.

Driving innovation and transformation initiatives, including digitalisation and process optimisation. Ensuring strong risk management practices and compliance frameworks are in place. Supporting and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Person :
The ideal candidate will have:
Significant leadership experience within the electricity sector or a related industry, with a strong understanding of market operations. Proven ability to lead, engage, and motivate diverse teams in a collaborative and inclusive manner. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships. A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline. Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, budgets, and resources.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex and evolving environments. A track record of driving innovation and delivering results in challenging settings. Experience in risk management and compliance oversight. The Reward:
