The COO & Director – Financial Management Consultancy is a contract position responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations and leading the delivery of financial management consulting services. This hybrid role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. The role includes managing client engagements, defining project scope, and ensuring high‑quality, timely delivery of consulting projects.
The COO & Director will oversee operational processes, resource planning, budgeting, and performance tracking across the consultancy. Responsibilities also include developing and refining service offerings, supporting business development activities, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role will provide leadership to consulting teams, set clear priorities, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Proven experience in senior operations leadership, including oversight of daily business operations, process optimization, and performance management in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Extensive background in financial management, such as budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and financial controls.
- Strong track record in client‑facing consulting roles, including project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of complex financial or operational transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategies, including service line development, market positioning, and support for business development efforts.
- Experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing work environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data to guide strategy and action.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, proposals, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment and managing distributed teams, with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Relevant academic background, such as a degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or MBA) are highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in the London or broader UK market and familiarity with UK financial regulations and business practices are advantageous.
