About the Opportunity

We are excited to be opening a brand-new children's home in Taplow, offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and all relevant legislation.

You will lead your team by example, ensuring children receive high-quality, child-centred care while creating a positive and supportive working environment for staff.

Key Responsibilities

* Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager of the home.

* Provide strong leadership and effective management to the residential team.

* Develop a culture that promotes safeguarding, respect, stability and positive outcomes.

* Ensure the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

* Promote excellent safeguarding practice and ensure all staff understand their responsibilities.

* Recruit, supervise, mentor and develop a high-performing team.

* Complete regular supervisions, appraisals and performance management.

* Manage budgets effectively and ensure efficient use of resources.

* Build positive relationships with placing authorities, families, education providers, health professionals and external agencies.

* Ensure children's care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.

* Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports.

* Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.

* Drive continuous improvement throughout the service.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives.

You will have:

* Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential home.

* Previous experience as a Registered Manager or substantial experience as a Deputy Manager ready for registration.

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it where appropriate).

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation and children's residential regulations.

* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

* Experience managing staff performance and developing teams.

* Confidence working with external professionals and local authorities.

* Ability to remain calm under pressure and make informed decisions.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

* Experience opening a new children's home.

* Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.

* Successful Ofsted inspection experience.

* Knowledge of therapeutic care models.
