We are recruiting for a Project Development Team Leader who will sit within the Strategic Economic Investment Service.

As the Project Development Team Leader your role will be to lead your team to ensure the successful development and delivery of a wide range of capital projects and programmes that are funded through the Council’s own budgets and externally sourced funds. The role will ensure that the significant investments being made have a strong alignment with the strategic priorities of the Council and reflect what our communities need.

The role holder will develop, co-ordinate and implement local, regional and placed based Economic Development strategies and programmes that will maximise sustainable economic benefits to Dumfries and Galloway. The role holder will take responsibility for developing projects from inception through to benefits realisation.

We would welcome applications from those who have experience in leading the delivery of economic development initiatives in a public / private or rural setting. The role holder will have experience of working with a wide range of organisations including public sector bodies, community groups and external agencies in delivering projects and programmes. We believe in developing and supporting our staff and training can be provided to strengthen the skills of new team members.

You will be working in a welcoming team who have a broad and detailed understanding of the local economic climate within Dumfries and Galloway who work in partnership to develop and deliver projects and programmes. Your role will be a mixture of remote based working with opportunities to work at Council offices and out in the communities across the region.
