Overview

This is a varied and rewarding leadership role with responsibility for the safe, effective and well organised running of the hospice ward. You will support day-to-day operational oversight, staffing, rostering, bed management, quality improvement and people management, while helping to create a positive and supportive culture for staff.

The role requires confidence with decision-making, prioritisation and managing competing demands, including HR and operational responsibilities. You will be part of a supportive leadership structure and will have the opportunity to develop, influence and make a real difference.

• A compassionate, confident and inspiring leadership style
• Experience in operational management, people management and leading teams
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
• Experience or understanding of complex care, palliative care or children and young people’s services
• A proactive, solution-focused approach to service improvement
• The confidence to work autonomously while also building strong partnerships across teams
