This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in driving transformation across Jisc. Sitting at the heart of our Transformation directorate, you will join our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) a centre of excellence responsible for shaping, delivering and embedding strategic programmes and projects across the organisation.

You will lead the delivery of key strategic projects and support programme management across the organisation. This includes managing project activities end‑to‑end, coordinating delivery, and providing leadership to project managers and project teams.

You will work with a broad range of stakeholders including senior leaders, programme managers, business analysts, development teams, project sponsors, process and service owners, and third‑party suppliers to plan and deliver projects to agreed standards and outcomes.

Alongside project delivery, you will support programme level activity with your line manager and provide line management to project delivery roles, including project managers and senior project managers within programme teams.

• Applying appropriate programme and project management techniques to deliver a variety of projects suitable for a Senior Project Manager, including service development and business change.
• Supporting Programme Management activities including leading key elements of strategic programmes.
• Leading and line managing a team of Project Delivery roles working on aligned projects.
• Performing one-to-one meetings with your team and supporting day-to-day activities on projects delivered within the wider programme.
• Developing Project Delivery teams: providing leadership and setting an example of high performance, agreeing performance & development objectives, reviewing team and individual performance, providing coaching and mentoring, facilitating access to informal and formal training opportunities.

• Strong leadership skills in a project and/or programme context
• Previous experience in leading and managing delivery of key strategic projects with a multi-disciplinary project delivery team.
• Demonstrable experience of formal project management methodologies (preferably including Agile).
• Ability to work directly with customers at all levels, including senior staff, understanding their needs and translating into actions.
• Experience in applying technology to solve business problems, either in the education and research sector or in other sectors.
