The Elms Clinic is seeking an experienced, highly organised, and motivated Registered CQC Manager to join its progressive GP practice in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare management professional to lead regulatory compliance, governance, quality assurance, and patient safety while helping deliver outstanding primary care services.

The successful candidate will serve as the clinic’s nominated Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Manager
, ensuring the practice remains fully compliant with CQC regulations and continuously improves the quality of patient care.

Salary
  • £30,500 – £42,000 per year (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

As the Registered CQC Manager, you will:

  • Act as the nominated Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Lead the practice’s CQC compliance programme and maintain inspection readiness.
  • Develop and implement effective governance and quality assurance systems.
  • Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, safeguarding concerns, and serious events.
  • Maintain the practice risk register and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinate internal audits and implement service improvements.
  • Review and update practice policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor mandatory staff training and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous learning, and service excellence.
  • Work closely with GP Partners, the Operations Lead, Practice Manager, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve regulatory and organisational goals.
Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Experience working in a GP practice or Primary Care environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC compliance and inspection requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of the CQC Fundamental Standards and NHS Primary Care regulations.
  • Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and policy development.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and GP clinical systems.
Desirable Qualifications

The following would be an advantage:

  • Previous experience as a Registered CQC Manager.
  • A management qualification or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)
    • Infection Prevention and Control
    • Safeguarding
    • Information Governance
