This is an 18 month secondment / fixed term contract position.
Surrey Police Criminal Justice Unit has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Team Leader with responsibility for the Online Allegations & Road Traffic Collision Digital Administration Teams. The successful candidate will either have proven experience in road traffic, or can evidence fast and competent learning in a new field.
The Online Allegations Team is responsible for receiving and reviewing submissions from members of the public of poor driving on Surrey’s roads. The majority of reports contain dash camera footage and the team review and progress appropriate submissions to court or out of court disposals as appropriate. The team currently comprises three individuals.
The Road Traffic Collision Digital Administration Team is responsible for receiving and progressing requests from insurance companies for copies of police collision reports and associated documentation. The team also monitor the email inbox for the collision team and are therefore a point of contact for officers and the public. The team currently comprises two individuals.
Due to nature of the wider traffic department the Team Leader will be based in, there may be the occasional need to assist the Police Led Prosecution Team in presenting cases at court.
This role has less flexibility than with other roles in respect of working days due to its unique nature. Any flexible working patterns could not include Monday, Wednesday or Friday as a non-working day.
This role is based at Guildford Police Station. To support the Force’s commitment to provide an agile and flexible workforce, you will have the opportunity to flexibly work at home or away from your normal place of work some of the time where appropriate once the initial probation/introductory assessment period is successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities
- The Team Leader oversees and leads the Online Allegations & Road Traffic Collision Digital Administration Teams, with direct line manager responsibility for approximately 5 individuals.
- Strong leadership, service delivery, partnership working and performance management
- Inspirational leadership to enable the delivery of key CJ objectives and services against agreed service level agreements and in line with national and local legislation.
- Responsibility for undertaking day-to-day supervision and line management whilst also providing advice to pro-actively solve queries.
- Build and maintain relationships with key colleagues and partner agencies to ensure an efficient and professional service.
