Solar Manager
Salary: 55,000
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Hybrid Solar Manager to oversee the delivery of residential solar PV projects across multiple new build developments. This is a hybrid role, combining office, site, and home-based working, offering the opportunity to lead installation teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will coordinate site operations, manage installers and subcontractors, liaise with clients and house builders, and ensure compliance with all industry regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple solar PV installation projects
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and materials to ensure efficient project delivery
- Carry out regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety compliance
- Support electricians and installers with technical guidance where required
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and house builders to maintain strong working relationships
- Plan workloads and allocate resources across multiple developments
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Conduct site audits, quality inspections, and resolve any installation issues
- Ensure compliance with MCS standards, electrical regulations, and health & safety legislation
- Produce progress reports and update senior management on project performance
Requirements
- Previous experience managing solar PV installation projects
- Strong understanding of residential solar PV systems and installation processes
- Experience working on new build housing developments
- Excellent people management and organisational skills
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and industry compliance requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software
Desirable
- Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS/CSCS Card
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
- Experience working with major house builders
