Overview

At AtkinsRéalis, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe great project managers can come from many different sectors and backgrounds. That's why we're interested in your ability to lead teams, build relationships, solve problems, manage complexity and deliver successful outcomes, not simply the industry in which you've gained your experience.

Our Northeast & Yorkshire team is one of the fastest growing project management communities within AtkinsRéalis, supporting clients across a diverse range of complex programmes and projects including transportation (highways & rail), energy, defence, nuclear, aviation and water. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work across multiple sectors, broaden your experience and help shape the future of our growing regional presence.

Join us and you'll be part of a genuinely collaborative environment where everyone is valued, supported and encouraged to develop. We place great emphasis on professional growth, knowledge sharing and creating opportunities for our people to reach their full potential.

Flexible and remote working are central to our culture, so talk to us about what's'important to you, from reduced weeks to buying additional leave, and how we can support your ambitions both inside and outside of work.

Your role
  • Deliver high-quality project and programme management services throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support clients in defining objectives, managing risks and achieving successful outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, reporting and governance arrangements.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams.

  • Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve agreed objectives.

  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.

  • Monitor progress and provide clear, timely and insightful reporting.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across project teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement and share best practice with colleagues.

  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of our Northeast & Yorkshire team.

  • Depending on your experience and level, you may also lead major projects, manage client relationships, support business development activities and mentor junior colleagues.

About you
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in complex, fast-paced environments.

  • Organised and proactive, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.

  • A problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity, overcome challenges and drive progress.

  • Committed to continuous learning, development and improvement.

You’ll bring experience of leading or supporting the delivery of projects, programmes, change initiatives or complex work streams, with the ability to balance competing priorities, engage stakeholders and deliver results. We welcome applications from candidates across all sectors and backgrounds, recognising that great project management skills can be developed in many different environments.

The following would be advantageous:

  • APM, RICS, PMI or equivalent qualifications, or a commitment to professional development.

  • Experience applying recognised project management methodologies and governance frameworks.

  • Experience working in regulated, stakeholder-rich or operationally complex environments.

  • Knowledge of commercial management, contract administration or NEC contracts.

Most importantly, we’re looking for individuals with the right behaviours, mindset and potential to thrive within our team. If you’re excited about project delivery, enjoy working with people and want to be part of a growing and ambitious team, we’d'encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement listed above.
